SUMMARY:Painting Flowers in Soft Pastel (4/25)
DESCRIPTION:***Must have taken Introduction to Pastel Painting Workshop or have experience with pastels*** \nThis workshop will begin with a look at basic flower structure and methods that help artists capture the form and character of flowers. Participants may choose to work from live flowers or reference photos. The focus is on generous painting time\, individualized feedback\, and instructor demonstrations tailored to the needs and interests of the group. \nAttendees will leave with a handout of the topics discussed in class and a deeper understanding of how to capture the beauty of flowers in their paintings! \nBring your own supplies or add the optional materials fees when registering to have pastels and/or painting surfaces provided. \nGloves In a Bottle\, nitrile gloves\, paper towels\, and tabletop easels will be provided. \nMaterials List: \n\nAssorted soft pastels with a nice range of values — you may bring your own or add the Materials Fee for Pastels when you register.\n8″ x 10″ or larger pastel surface of your choice for your painting. If you are a fast painter\, feel free to bring more! If you choose to add the Materials Fee for Paper when you register\, an 8″ x 10″ piece of PastelMat or UArt 400 will be provided.\nPlease bring your own backing board large enough to hold your painting surface. A drawing board or piece of foam core will work.\nPlease bring your own reference photos for your painting. If you do not have any references\, I will have a limited amount to choose from. I will also have some live flowers available to paint from\, and you may bring your own if you would like.\n\nOther Info to Know: \n\nFeel free to bring snacks and drinks and take break times as needed. You can bring a sack lunch or purchase something from a nearby restaurant if you wish.\nYou must register for this class at least 24 hours in advance.\nI will not be able to offer refunds in the event you miss class.
