“Purple Makes Everything Better” Workshop

***Must have taken Introduction to Pastel Painting Workshop or have experience with pastels***

Class Description

Delve into the many ways purple can enhance your painting! If you’ve had a class with me, you’ve likely heard me recommend adding purple to a piece. In this workshop, students will do hands-on exercises in color theory and atmospheric perspective to explore the specific ways purple can be utilized to add depth, harmony, and that little “je ne sais quois” to a painting!

Supply List

• One 8″ x 10″ and two 5″ x 7″ pieces of your favorite pastel surface. (or add the materials fee for paper)
• One or two landscape reference photos
• A variety of hard, medium, and soft pastels. Be sure you have a range of purple! (or add the materials fee for pastels)
• A backing board (just a piece of foam core will do) and gloves if you prefer to wear them.

Other Info to Know

You may bring a sack lunch if you wish or purchase from a nearby restaurant

Gloves in a Bottle, towels, and tabletop easels will be provided, as well as Canson paper for some of the exercises

You must register and pre-pay for this class at least 24 hours in advance.

I will not be able to offer refunds in the event you miss class.
