Painting Snow Workshop
January 20 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm$5.00 – $60.00
***Must have taken Introduction to Pastel Painting Workshop or have experience with pastels***
The most beautiful part about winter is the snow! In this workshop we will explore the gorgeous array of color to be found in snow and discuss how to use those colors to create a realistic winter scene. Students will do exercises to practice choosing colors and values and then apply these techniques to a small instructor-lead study and then a winter landscape painting of your choice.
- One 5″ x 7″ and one 8″ x 10″ piece of UArt, PastelMat, or other pastel surface that can accept a wet wash. Whichever surface you choose, it will need to be a board or be permanently mounted to foam core.
- A variety of your own reference photos for the final painting.
- A variety of hard, medium, and soft pastels. Be sure you have a range of light colors! If you need mounted paper and/or pastels provided, please add the materials fee when you purchase your class(es).
- A backing board larger than 8″ x 10″ (just a piece of foam core will do) and gloves if you prefer to wear them.
