My art classes are geared towards adults and serious young artists above the age of 10. Specifics on experience level are listed in each class description.

Painting Flower Portraits (5/24)

***Must have taken Introduction to Pastel Painting Workshop or have experience with pastels***
Class Description:
We will create paintings of flowers that get up close and capture an individual bloom’s unique beauty. We will go over flower structure and discuss concepts to help us capture their character. Emphasis is placed on ample painting time and individualized feedback with instructor demonstrations tailored to the needs of the class.
Materials:
Assorted soft pastels with a nice range of values — you may bring your own or add the Materials Fee for Pastels when you register.
Pastel surface of your choice for your painting. Don’t be afraid to go big if you’d like! If you choose to add the Materials Fee for Paper when you register, an 11″ x 14″ sheet of PastelMat will be provided.
Please bring your own backing board large enough to hold your painting surface. A drawing board or piece of foam core will work.
Please bring your own reference photos or a live flower for your painting. If you do not have any appropriate references, you may choose from mine. I will also provide a few live flowers.
Gloves In a Bottle, nitrile gloves, paper towels, and tabletop easels will be provided.
Other Info to Know:
- Feel free to bring snacks and drinks and take break times as needed. You can bring a sack lunch or purchase something from a nearby restaurant if you wish.
- I will not be able to offer refunds in the event you miss class.
