Class Description:
Do you ever find yourself hesitant to lay down that next pastel mark on your painting? Or wish you felt more confident in painting faster? This workshop is designed to help you work past overthinking and become more confident in your mark making through timed exercises and count-the-stroke exercises. This will be a great class to stretch and grow your pastel skills!
Materials:
Assorted soft pastels with a nice range of values — you may bring your own or add the Materials Fee for Pastels when you register.
One 5″ x 7″ and one 8″ x 10″ (or larger) piece of your favorite pastel painting surface. If you would like UArt or PastelMat paper provided, please add the Materials Fee for Paper when you register.
Please bring your own backing board large enough to hold your surface. A drawing board or piece of foam core will work.
Please bring your own reference photo for the painting you will do on the larger piece of paper. Something with large simple shapes will be easiest.
Gloves In a Bottle, nitrile gloves, paper towels, and tabletop easels will be provided.
Other Info to Know:
- Feel free to bring snacks and drinks and take break times as needed. You can bring a sack lunch or purchase something from a nearby restaurant if you wish.
- I will not be able to offer refunds in the event you miss class.
